Spooked on Capital Hill

STARTING JANUARY 2009!

Embark on this walking tour through Capital Hill, the charming and historic neighborhood which during the late 1800's was home to many of Seattle's wealthy families, business leaders and now home to some of its well known ghosts.

Famed for being featured in movies such as Singles & The Slender Thread, Capitol Hill also features famous haunted sites such as Washington's most documented spooked locale, known as the Harvard Exit Theatre. This site was once the meeting hall for the Women's Century Club during the 1920s and it appears some of its past members are still meeting there today in a ghostly form. In fact it is believed to be haunted by Bertha Landes, Seattle's first female mayor.

Besides the Harvard Exit, this tour will take you to other chilling locations like the Richard Hugo House which at one time was a mortuary as well as an exploration of Lake View Cemetery. This site is now the resting spot for Seattle's pioneers and the famous Bruce & Brandon Lee graves. Whether you believe in ghosts or just enjoy the stories that unfold at these unsettling locations, be assured that Capitol Hill has plenty of spooks to offer the questioning mind.
